31 Day Challenge Day 20 - Water Marble

Hello my lacquer lovers!! Today I have for you a water marble! I love doing water marbles! I just wish I had more room!! My working space is a wooden TV tray. Although I still got it done, it was not without difficulty due to my room limitation!

Ok, so for this mani I decided to do pastels. Well close enough to pastels anyway! For my base I used SC Snow Me White and the 3 colors used for marbling are, OPI Planks A Lot, Sparrow Me the Drama and Mermaid's Tears. Top coat Seche Vite.

I didn't have a set look for the marbling I just did it randomly. Some people like to try to get a certain look. I did that once an it turned out well but I am still partial to randomness hehe! Enjoy the pics (more coming soon)!

31 Day Challenge Day 19 - Galaxies

Ok this mani was a little more challenging but soo totally fun IMO! I found a great video on You Tube and it helped A LOT! As soon as I find the video again I'll link it!

Alright, I can't remember the polish names (I'll get that later too) but I remember brands lol! Base is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out (ok so I remembered that one), then I used SC and Ulta for the nebula and then the stars are SC.

Oh by the way, this is my first time doing galaxy nails although I think I did a great job! Enjoy!

Being Sick Sucks...

Hello my lady loves! I want to say sorry for not posting my challenge manis lately. I have been sick and ended up getting bronchitis! YAY me! Anyway, I am heading to the doctor today to hopefully get something to help lol. I have some pictures lined up to upload and everything it's just finding the energy to do it. With 2 kids sick and myself sick it's a little difficult finding the energy to do much of anything! Anyway, I hope to have a couple of posts done either today or tomorrow. Keep your eyes open for them!

31 Day Challenge Day 18 - Half Moon

Ok just to warn you all, these next few posts will be short and sweet. I'll explain what I did and the colors used etc, but I won't be typing a lot. I need to play catch up with my blogs.

To begin my catch up posts is my day 18/31 challenge mani, half moon. I used CC Worth the Risqué as my base color and then I used tape to make the triangle and used CC Revvvolution to paint the triangle.

Since I am doing this on my phone I wont be able to put captions under my pics so I'll explain here. Pic #1 is in artificial light. Pic #2 is in Sunlight. Pic #3 is a close-up in sunlight. That's all for now!!

31 Day Challenge Day 17 - Glitter

Hello my lacquered lovers!! If my post looks funny today, my apologies! I am testing the blogger app from my iPhone! I like it so far! I can only post an edit posts but that's all I want to do!

Ok you all probably noticed I went from challenge day 14 to 17 and are probably wondering where 15 and 16 are. Well, I didn't get to do those due to my being so tired I went to bed shortly after my kids did! I had to go to a neurologist and she wants me to take melatonin to help promote sleep. Let me tell you, it works lol!!

Alright, onto the mani!! I decided to do this mani for 2 reasons. First I loved the colors and the glitter, second, my daughter liked this a lot so how could I say no right?! Anyway, the colors I used are 10 Read My Lips (base) and Zoya Kissy (glitter). The pics aren't the best but they work lol! Enjoy!

31 Day Challenge Day 14 - Flowers

Another challenge day for all you lovelies out there! My apologies for taking so long. Kids have been sick and I have had a few doctors appointments and now I am sick! Fun times!

So today is day 14, flowers. For this I was going to stamp on some flowers and be done. I didn't feel in the mood to paint last night but I didn't want to stop the challenge because I knew that if I stopped one day I would stop the rest and I didn't want to! So I decided to put one of my favorite movies on and do my nails!

31 Day Challenge Day 13 - Animal Print

Ok this blog is going to be short and sweet since I need to get myself and my kids ready to go to dinner at Chili's!! Yummy!!

When I saw that I was doing an animal print mani, I was texting my sister and telling her what mani I am going to do next. I asked for her opinion on what I should do and what color and she told me "frog - green." I thought was a great idea, especially since my dad LOVES frogs!! So I got my Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Ivy League and Black Out. Then I grabbed my SC Snow Me White and I started on my mani. My plan was to make a frog on my thumb and then make foot prints on the rest of my nails to make it look like he was hopping along but it didn't turn out that way. I do think the finish project is adorable though!! Take a look!

I totally need to send this link to my dad and have him look at this lol! I am so proud for my first frog mani!!

31 Day Challenge Day 12 - Stripes

Hello my lovely polish addict ladies/gentlemen (perhaps?)! I missed day 11 due to a massive migraine! I still have it but at least it's going away now! I went to see a neurologist yesterday (01/11) so we can try to get to the bottom of things! I am no longer allowed to stay up all night doing my nails :( What a bummer! So I shall try and get them done earlier on in the day if my kids allow me to. If they don't, like today, then I will try to get them done right after they go to bed! I am going to try to get 2 mani's done tonight but I'm not holding my breath! I am entering a contest that you can find at Constantly Undone. I will post a separate blog later explaining things. I will also post a pic of the mani I am doing/will do for the contest!

Ok well not on to the mani at hand here. This is day 12 and it called for stripes. So stripes I did! You'll have to forgive me as I can't remember the name of the polishes I used, just the brands. I will get the names later. Today has been pretty hectic and if I move from my computer chair my kids are going to follow and want to play in my polish and that would be bad lol! So without further ado, here is my stripe mani!

31 Day Challenge Day 10 - Gradient Nails

Hello fellow nail lovers!! Today's mani is supposed to be a gradient but I am HORRIBLE at gradient manis. I don't know why I am so bad. I try so hard, and I have used couple different sponges but to no avail! I am still practicing though so maybe in this case practice does make perfect!

So instead of the gradient I decided to use a multi-chrome polish! What I have here for you all is Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Burgundy Orchid! It's a beautiful multi-chrome polish that goes from, blue, to purple, to red and if you look at the bottle you can see a gold color. I didn't get that in my pictures but I also didn't spend a lot of time on my pictures because there are a lot of dings. Right when I finished polishing last night my daughter woke up so I needed to take care of her. I hope you like the color! I do for sure!!

31 Day Challenge Day 9 - Rainbow Nails

Ok, I was supposed to do rainbow nails yesterday and I tried! I really did but it was such a fail it wasn't even worthy enough for pictures!! So I took it off and a thought came to me! Holos are rainbowy right? Right, so I decided to use a holo glitter polish! It's rainbowy!

For this mani, I used OPI DS Extravagance. Some of the pics you can't tell the holoness but it's there in person I swear LOL.

I hope it's rainbowy enough for the challenge lol! Have a great day everyone!!

31 Day Challenge Day 8 - Metallic Nails

Hello awesome lacquered lovers!! So today I have semi metallic nails for you all. I didn't realize until after I painted my nails that I had a good metallic polish! Oh well! Today I used Orly Flirty. It's nice and opaque with one coat but I prefer 2 to hide and brush strokes. It's a bright pink with silver micro glitter and it's absolutely stunning! Check it out!!

Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well earlier today so I missed any sunlight that we had today. Well, hopefully I catch the sun tomorrow with my different mani!! Oh and by the way, here is the challenge!

I missed the first 4 days, but that's ok. I'm not big on orange and yellow so not a big loss for me lol! So tomorrow is rainbow nails! I think I already know what I am going to do so come check back tomorrow!!

31 Day Challenge Day 7 - Black and White Nails

So for day 7 it's black and white nails! I knew almost immediately what I wanted to do. I can't help but think of Zebras when I think of those colors so I did a black base with white zebra stripe tips. Check it out!

The colors used here are CC Revvvolution (holo) and Pumpkin White (Halloween) and the Zebra tips with BM plate 219.

So I know I have said this before, but please excuse the ugliness which is that of my cuticles! They are horrid but am trying soo hard to make them look better! The surrounding skin too!! Just focus on the polish :)

31 Day Challenge Day 6 - Violet Nails

So I know this is a day late but my kids don't want me to post on time! Go figure! So because I have another post to do I am going to keep this one short and sweet.

I got this idea from just looking at some pictures of a good violet color. I wanted to see if I had a good violet. So I googled violet and went to images and I saw this beautiful purple butterfly. I couldn't resist so I did an "April" (me :P) version of the butterfly on my ring finger nails.

Here is my inspiration! Beautiful isn't it?!

So it wasn't too hard to do this mani. I used CG LOL and then my Pumpkin Black from halloween and a small art brush to do the butterfly!

Here is the finished project under artificial light

Just another angle in Sunlight

I go crazy over holos so I tend to have a few pictures that look the same but I am trying to capture the different colors of the holoness etc... Well, day 6 is over, onto day 7!!

31 Day Challenge, Day 5: Blue Nails!

Hello fellow polish lovers!! I have decided to do a 31 day challenge!! I am starting on day 5 (good for me as I don't like orange or yellow polishes except for nail art!) So starting on day 5 (blue nails) is good!! If you would like to do this challenge then by all means do!! You don't have to do it everyday! Lord knows I won't be able to with my two kids running around wanting to paint everything in sight once I start! Anyway, please feel free to join and remember to link my blog so others can see more spectacular (hehe) nails!

So last night when I did this mani (I try to get my manis done before bed but after my kids are asleep), I was looking on Chloe's Nails blog and remembered she had done somethnig with triangles! Well before I saw the pic, I decided the triangles is what I wanted to do anyway, so I went ahead and did it. The later went back to her blog and looked for what I was thinking of. I found it in her tutorials and it's called "Patchwork mani Tutorial....". Enjoy the reading and pictures!

Now onto the pictures! So the colors I used here are Orly Snowcone and Orly Royal Navy. I used tape to make the Royal Navy triangle. It was easy peesey. If you want to do 3 different colors for this look then use Chloe's tutorial I mentioned above. If you just want to use 2 colors, you still still follow her tutorial but the only thing I did differently was that I kept the tape pieces taped together to form the triangle.

So there you have it! Day 5, posted on day 6 lol! Hopefully I will get Day 6 posted on time. We shall see!!

Sunday, January 1, 2012

Hello all you polish addicts out there and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! My apologies for the long pause between posts! Holidays get a little hectic around here!! I am finally home from Christmas break and my kids are napping so I have a little time to blog!!

So for the first mani of the year, is more of a comparison. I purchased Make Up Stores Greta and Aqua Fix from a friend of mine. You can check to see if she has anymore at her blog sale. If you don't see it on her list email her anyway! Her email is at the top of her blog sale page. She still may have some! She got them from a group buy from MUS! Thanks to her I got to come home from Christmas vacay and open the package to this beautiful silver holo polish!! So without further ado, here is the comparison I have done!

Please keep in mind, this comparison is done on ACRYLIC nails! Not natural. Yes I cheated into getting my long nails. Anyway, I finally got my hands on MUS Greta and Aqua Fix! So naturally I want to test it right? DUH! So I used MUS Greta on ALL nails!! Now I was wondering why it looked different then what I have seen in pics. The pics that made me so obsessed with getting this color! Well I figured it out, but first, can you see a difference in the picture below? Scroll down and keep reading to find out what the difference is.

Ok so if you haven't seen the difference yet then I will tell you! If you look closely on my index and ring finger you can see that the holo effect is more prominent then my middle and pinky finger. This is due to MUS Aqua Fix! Now, which one has AF and which doesn't? Hmmmm....

Ok, have you all guessed yet?! Well, if you haven't, my index and ring finger are polished WITH Aqua Fix and my middle and pinky are WITHOUT AF! Quite the difference right? So when I did this and found the difference so amazing I decided to do AF first then Greta! Smart decision right? So now here are a couple pics with MUS AF and Greta... on ALL nails hehe!!

So I hope you all enjoyed this post and if you have any questions at all please email I will post again either later today (I have some I need to post about), or tomorrow! Keep checking back for more!! Thank you for reading!!
